Once again burried deep in the woods I found this BO, he was just about eye level with me. He was sitting there looking around. Not having my tripod and flash I had to hand hold and use low shutter speed.

Mike:

Good job finding one at this level, and handling the low light situation. I might consider a minor crop from the right to move him off center a bit, since his angle of gaze is to our left. This would also require a minor crop from the top to balance well. Bit depends on how much canvas you have to play with (ie. how big of crop is this?)

Well exposed.

Please be sure to include your tech details, camera and lens settings, any post work. This really helps us understand and critique your image.

I edited your post so the image would show up. Take a look at the link below, it talks about how to link an image from another site!

Hey Mike, beautiful subject...love the grip on the branch. Techs look good (although I'd love to see the settings). Processing-wise you could tone down the bright spot directly above the head - the clone stamp with a soft brush at 30-40% opacity should do the trick. I'd also get rid of the zig-zagging object at left edge - and the little piece at bottom of the left eye (our right). Other than that this is a fine image with a great forest feel to it.
