I was down in the Orlando area for 5 days making stops at various locations
including Ft. DeSoto to the west and Merritt Island to the east.My goal was
to capture at least 10 species that I've never photographed before.

Spoonbill had eluded me for some time and I thought I wasn't going to see
one again this year. I know you can find them at Gator Farm at St. Augustine but
on my last day I opted to go to Circle B Bar Reserve since it was closer.
As my luck would have it, they were just waiting for me...:S3:

RAW converter used was Silkypix and processed with Elements 10.

Love the pastel colors. One you should be proud of.

Ramon:

A handsome young spoonie, with great eye contact.

From a comp. standpoint, I would trim a bit off the top.

There is a distinct line along his back at the edge of the bill running down the back. Perhaps just a artifact of the light.

Glad you found this fellow!

Cheers

Randy

Nice pose and clean backgorund. Looks like this guy is smiling for you! Pointing your lens down a bit more would have been ideal IMO. Did you do some post-processing along the bottom, edge of the perch?

Very nice Ramon. I am glad you found your spoonbills! you missed a great day on the Hooptie Deux with us. Something for you to consider for next year!
I really like this image. I like the comp and love the pose.I might go a touch brighter. I am wondering (like Daniel if you did some PP on the branch? )It looks fuzzy.
All in all, a great shot,
Gail

I looked at the RAW file and the line is there, so I know it's not from PP.

Thank you for pointing it out.

You are correct, my apology for forgetting to mention it, I cloned part of the tree branch. Obviously didn't do a good job of it.

It was perched about 30 ft high so had no choice but to point up. Thanks for the advice will remember next time.
