Taken in the late evening on a small boat cruise of Prince William Sound in Alaska.

Canon 50D
16-35 @ 33mm
1/100
f5.0
ISO 400
HH from moving boat, slight crop to straighten and to move waterfall off center, luminosity mask, levels, curves and some of the actions Morkel recently posted.

C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Rachel

I really like this one, Rachel. You did well to retain great detail throughout...just enough FG ice to lead you into the scene, and nicely layered in thirds. The texture/detail in the rocks and snow is awesome, and the colours work well together...especially the 'cold' blues in the snow. Nothing I would change here. A strong image IMHO. :5

(okay, perhaps in an ideal world where you weren't moving on a boat, being able to get a little more blur on the little waterfall would've been nice :w3)

Wow Morkel, high praise. Thanks and thanks again for the actions. It has been fun experimenting with them a bit.

Very nicely done Rachel. The waterfall is placed in the perfect spot. Love the rocks and the glacier too. Beautifully done!

Rachel,

I agree with the above but would add the following suggestions:

1) Local Contrast enhancement using USM on a BG Copy at 20/50/0 and change to taste. This will enhance detail in the glacier and rocks and cut through the haziness.
2) Sharpen it some more after the LCE.

Thanks Robert. Here's a repost implementing your suggested changes.

Thanks again,
Rachel
