From my SE Arizona trip, and taken at Bill Forbes' incredible Elephant Head pond. This House Finch looks to me like it's doing its best Miles Davis impersonation!

Doug:

This is lots of fun! I can almost hear the tune!

Your bird is sharp, well exposed.

I might consider burning in the bright red clump of flowers at top, so they don't pull our eye quite so strongly away from the bird. Like the diagonal perch.

Cheers'

Bill's place is probably my favorite place to shoot, only problem is which bird to shoot.
Great shot and the flower above does not bother me.

Pretty neat Doug.

But when I was at the Great Lakes Naval Station many years ago, I attended a performance by Louis Armstrong on the trumpet. I was amazed by how much his cheeks puffed out when he played. What's with this finch? His cheeks didn't seem to puff out at all!

Funny shot, Nice perch and I agree about toning down the flower just a tad.

Very unusual and I think the colours and detail are excellent. I would suggest however, if it is a crop, to reduce it a little bit.

Did you mean to go a little looser with the crop?
