Imaged in northern Michigan several weeks ago.

I like the head position with the curves, bow wake and blue accents to the predominant water color

D4 600VR f/5 1/800s ISO 800 Pedestal mounted in the bottom of my little boat, "Loonie Too"

Post: CS5 selective sharpening, crop from left and below for comp

Advice and comments always appreciated

Cheers

As Doug said, I like this for your reasons but more, the light with shadow behind the head, and the eye is perfect. Very artistic comp. An award winner IMO, over the top as some would say, Super job Randy.

Nicely done, great details on the head showing it's black/iridescent green colours.

I love the name of your boat!Well thought out.
this picture is terrific.
I feel like I could reach into the picture and touch the bird.
I really like the composition as well. Like the little feather in the beak.
the bird is so perfect that
I would clean up the 2 grey areas on the bill.
You get 10 out of 10 from me on this one,
gail

Nice one once again Randy. I just went out looking for loons on Sunday and Monday, very windy, no images, lots of cold and wind blown loons however. Will post when I get them. Looking forward to your thoughts when I do. Thanks for your critiques and posts Randy. Always love your loons. Hey, that should be a slogan!
