Today is my 1D4's 3rd Bday (and also my Bday but I'm a bit older :bg3:). Since 2009 this body has been my companion in many different locations and some tough conditions and it hasn't let me down. I wanted to post a few more Stilt shots from PA Baylands. Hopefully will post some more interesting and less-common species soon. The stilts are actually very tough to get in flight. They are only slightly smaller than Avocets but they fly faster and somewhat jump short distances so there is not much time to lock on them with the right pose. After practicing, 1D4 can nail these guys pretty well. The great DR of the sensor allows excellent rendition of both whites and blacks.

Happy Birthday for the both of you :-). The 1D MK IV rocks for sure and you are not doing bad either as a bird photographer. Your BIF images are always something to look at and enjoy the HD version. Have a great celebration, Arahs.

Beautiful image Arash! I like the sharpness, exposure, details and BG. I would consider adding a little more room on the left to fly into but it is fine as presented. Happy Birthday!

Well done, as usual.

Hard to see how a different camera would do any better. If it works, it works. Plenty of detail in the dark color areas too. I haven't had much luck shooting these in flight, getting this kind of detail.

Almost looks just slightly too sharp in the face, if that's a criticism.

Nice way to enjoy your birthday.
