I took this photo recently near one of my feeders. These guys seem to spend most of their lives upside down. :) 40D, 500 f/4 +1.4X, 1/200, f/7.1, ISO 400. Cropped from a horizontal. Comments are welcome.

Very nice pose and soft light with good details. I am not sure if I like the setup.

Great image, love the composition, colors and details of your feathered friend. The background compliments your subject very nicely with the soft earth tones...:)
Congrats...:D

I wish the tail were clear of the sticky up part of the perch. Well done other than that.

Very, very lovely as noted above. I do not even mind the tail against the little branch. The pose, the head angle, and the sharpness are all outstanding.

Great capture of the bird! The perch is a bit bright and just a tad distracting from the beautiful bird.

If this is a feeder setup, you can "fix" or prevent some of that brightness by wetting down the branch every little bit (the wood will absorb the water and look darker...). Sometimes you can get by with only wetting it down once in a day...

Robert - Thanks for the tip about wetting down the perch. I'll have to give that a try - or find a darker perch. :)
