Brendon - for me this works really well, though I would call it a snarl. :S3: Great detail and the tiny bit of blood on the nose adds.

Rachel

Really an eye-grabbing image. I think that the black bg adds an element of mystery to this and I for one LOVE it.

Superb! The black background really sets it off too.

A striking image indeed Brendon.

When posting please can you add some more information to the BKG behind the image itself, ie was flashed used, how you lit it if not, any additional PP as it does help build the picture. What caused him to be snarling like this, is this the PM of Duba?

Thanks very much all. Sorry Steve, was in a hurry this morning so added minimal info. Image was shot in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, using only spotlight no flash used. Appart from the usual, levels, saturation, curves and sharpening i burnt the bottom left and right corners a little to match to rich black on top. The lion, one of the old Mapogo males, wasnt snarling he was smelling a female and then showing a flehmen response, giving the look of a snarl or mid yawn face.

Very striking image, mate, and thanks for the additional info! IQ right up there as usual...
Was the spot from your vehicle or another vehicle from another angle? Looks quite direct - ie coming from your vehicle?

Brendon,
Always the best bet for betting an image of an "angry" male even when he is probably quite happy:w3

Cheers Brendon, always good to have some info about the scene and what's happening, easier to base feedback too, not just on the basics.

All the best.

Dramatic in color and expression but it looks too much like a hunter's mounted kill for me.

I can see what you mean Steve I think you have explained what I thought when I first saw it, thanks
