Ian,

Just beautiful, the peaceful nature of this image really gets my attention. The facial expression is perfect, looks inquisitive to me really nice capture. Solid exposure techs as well, with the DoF expanding the focus area and the shutter speed and ISO perfect for capturing whites and sharp detail.

I thought about removing the body reflection with a cleaner bottom edge, lets see what others say. Looks really good as presented.

Ian, A beautiful capture. I love the droplet at the end of its bill.

Thank you for commenting. Jeff, I also thought about removing the body reflection and tried it. IMO, this hardened the appearance of the image with the sharp legs on the bottom, so I left it this way. I'll be interested in what others say.

Hi Ian, sweet image and I like just as it is. To my eye the reflection needs to be there and I think you cropped at just the right place. Not only a technically excellent image, but a charming one as well. Nice job! I see you're liking that f/7.1. :c3:

Thanks, Kerry. Yes, I'm settling in often on f/7.1 (as long as the bird isn't smack up against an ugly BG). It gives me a little DOF leeway that I like. That DOF helps me if the bird is not at a 90 degree angle to the sensor plane.

Ian, I agree with your thoughts. We can thank Doug Brown for that one! :c3:
