This wild Galapagos Tortoise was eating fruit (guava?) after fruit and seemed to have a singular purpose. With the sort of far off stare here, I thought it looks like we feel after eating way too much at a holiday meal. Taken in the Highlands in April 2009.

Canon 50D
100-400 @ 400mm

ISO 400
EC -1/3
HH, luminosity mask, some selective burning and dodging, levels, curves and sharpened in CS5.

C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Rachel,

Well it certainly seems to be enjoying it:S3:

I suppose you could argue that a little more DOF may have been required for the upturned shell and leg, but it does not really bother me as the centre of attraction is the head

Hi Rachel, they are a bit of a messy eater aren't they, was this up at the sanctuary where they have quite a few roaming around?

- Perhaps opening the head up a fraction in Curves to bring out a little more detail, option on some additional/selective USM
- Agree with Harshad crop a fraction off the RHS just after that light blade of grass on the trim edge
- Perhaps desaturate the BKG a fraction just to give the face more punch?
- DOF works well
