I have been working on my feeders in the backyard. These two days, I have noticed a pair of Cardinals hanging around near the feeders, constantly calling in the morning and evening. After some observation, I discovered that they were trying to get this juvenile to learn how to fly. This youngster was jumping in the bushes near my setup in the backyard. With the parents constantly coming to feed at the feeders, this youngster finally followed and landed on one of the perches that I have setup for the song birds. Hid behind a blind, added filled flash.

Absolutely adorable, Troy. Love the colors, the details, the face only a mother could love. The perch works extremely well and even the square crop works here.

Wonderful image. can't believe this will grow up to be so beautiful. On a tech. note , I might just tone down the BG a bit as it seems very bright.

Love the sharpness, the details and excellent exposure. Excellent use of flash. I think the background is a bit too uniform, but that a personal taste.
