1D Mark IV, Canon 800 f5.6, 1/1000, f6.3, iso 640, tripod, full Wimberley, hideHaven't been here for ages! Lovely to be back with some new photos which I got in Israel during April while visitng my family. What an amazing place for bird photography with millions of migrating birds! This Glossy Ibis is a resident bird which is currently nesting like many other birds everywhere.

Edit - can't fix the title - maybe one of the moderators can help me...?:e3

Sweet Pose, cool bird, and nice light. Foot out of the water takes this one to the next level.

A cut above what is usually seen and an image worth gazing upon. Would love to hear more about birding in Israel...

Thanks for your comments guys!
Jack, I am working on organizing a bird photography workshop/course in the Holy Land next April - will have the page up and running very soon.

Spectacular image. Killer bird, light, perspective, pose, raised foot,, sharpness, colors, and BKGR. If it were mine I would have placed the bird a bit back and down in the frame.

Ofer, great timing and loved the low angle. Colors look great. water looks a bit too cyan..you can tell if that is the true color. I know it can be at that way in some areas.

These birds are beautiful, and you did them justice. I was admiring them a few days ago on the South Carolina coast, but never could get close enough for anything good.

Lovely pose, angle and colors, Ofer. I would like to see a tad more on top and left. Love that raised foot with all the details and the water droplets.

Aspectacular image. Not an easy bird to photograph well. Light is perfect for this bird. Well done.

Spectacular color and light.
Just terrific IQ as usual, but the Ibis is just a great subject.

Nice to see yet another killer image Ofer. Love the raised foor , amazing colors and awesome low angle. I like as posted but agree the other crop suggestions would work too.

Gorgeous in all regards. Great light angle on the bird to illuminate all those great colors on the bird!
