D800, ISO 640, f9, 1/1250, -0.7EV.


Taken a couple of days ago on our Galveston workshop. Perch placed over water drip.

Nice one! You could sell berries with this shot. If I were you I might alert one of the Texas berry organizations...money in the bank...

This sure looks a lot better than the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks I tried to photograph at Ft DeSoto a few days under not such controlled circumstances. This capture is outstanding. The only change I would make is to take a tad off the bottom (removing the partial berries) and adding some on top. His head looks a tad cramped. Happy shooting!!!

The combination of berry in mouth and broken berry on the perch is super cool.

Now that you have had the D800 for a bit, how does it compare to the D4?

So pretty bird, light and the fact that is eating makes for a very natural and compelling image.
