Great light, details and BG. I might give it a bit more space.

This looks like a 8x10, how about a 11x17 for more room on the left for the bird to look into? All else is nice by the way. Lovely colors.

Very nicely done to catch the iridescence in the feathers. Nice BG too.

Very nice. I agree that a bit of space around the bird would enhance the image.

Just fantastic. Such soft light and beautiful colors. Yes to a bit more room all around. I also like the "back" perch for the far foot and the perfect head angle. If it fits with your personal ethics, you might get rid of the white speck on the flank.

It's great when you can get the shimmer on a grackle......it comes even in low light.
Nice and sharp, did the MkIII test out ok?

On my monitor the subject appears a wee bit light and flat, but it seems I'm the only one as usual.
this is just another variation......may or may not be any improvement

Sweet specimen and I like the "in your face" composition here. No suggestions.

The repost is great too but I still like the softer light in the ORIG. Somewhere in between the two would be pretty sweet also.

Great image and capture, composition is good , but would like just a tad more room for your subject... Love the background and the details on the bird...

Dave, like Artie, I also like the soft side of the orig. but something in the middle might be good. I will look at it later on and white speck on the flank will also be gone... My MkIII is perfect up to now. Coming from a 30D, my personal benchmark is low and all the orig. defects reported on the MkIII seem to be standard features in the 30D.. At lease to me. ;)

Thanks ton all for your comments!
