Took this image of a white-faced duck at the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary in Pretoria, South Africa on 24 July 2011...
I like the full stretch pose and concentration on the duck's face here!
Equipment: Canon 7D and 500mm F4 L lens
Settings: 1/3200s a F5.6 an ISO 800

I really like the bird, the background, and the sharpness. I only wish the bird wasn't flying away, and had a head angle a bit more toward you.

Very nice looking duck! Agree with the angle recommendation. Exposure looks VG.

Spectacular sharpness and detail and ditto Ryan. What bad luck! You were done in by the wind direction....

I love the dynamic pose and super techs, but agree about the subject's angle.

Just noticed this one. I suppose it would have been nice to have the bird facing more towards you, but that is a fantastic image. Detail is just phenomenal. More than compensates for any issues with the head angle, in my opinion.
