just back from a wonderful IPT with Artie in Morro Bay - incredibly windy - but beautiful --as always - learned lots from Artie!
I really love the immature gulls, and this one was beautiful against the rough water it was coming in to bathe in. Any input on how to improve the pic always appreciated. (no baiting, no calling)

Nice detail and wing position I find the subject tight in the frame and if you have more room I would add it back.

I agree with Don about the tight framing. Also, I would have preferred the bird to be somewhat higher in the frame.
Techs are great: perfect exposure, DOF and sharpness.

hey thanks Don and Xavier, this was full frame - I'll play with adding some extra canvas and see how it looks.
thanks again!

Excellent technical prowess to get this guy full frame! I would add 10% more canvas right and bottom to give the bird some breathing room. Lovely feather detail,
Gail

thank you for kind comments!!! Gail - you got me wondering, so I went back and checked LR and I'm sorry - I mispoke, I did do a crop in LR. It was the next picture in the series that was full frame not this one - sorry about that! Actually - it was not so difficult because Artie figured out the perfect conditions - steady 20-30 mph wind with gusts up to 50mph, the birds were coming in to bathe in the pool flying into the wind at almost perfect sun angle. If you didn't mind freezing in the cold and getting both yourself and your camera sandblasted - it was awesome!
