Hello everyone. Here is the last shot from my series. I picked this shot because of the female's head angle. This is the only frame where she turned my way. Hope you enjoyed this Avocet series.C&C welcomed and encouraged.Nikon 300s l Nikon 200-400 w/1.4tc l ISO 640 l 560mm l 1/1600 l F8 l Multi Segment l Manual l Laying on floor gear on skimmer ground pod.

You saved the best for last. Love everything about this one. The light, the colors of BG that are so complimentary to the birds, the IQ. Congrats,
Gail

Hi Robert, Ive enjoyed your series too, and you certainly did leave the best for last. Excellent IQ, and both avocets are pin sharp and well exposed. I do like the overall colours of the BG too. No one has mentioned it, but I feel a touch of CCW rotation is needed, looking at the line of water below the female. :w3

I see what you are thinking Stuart. However, if you check the water line on the female body, it appears even. Also the reflection off of the female's head and beak appear in pretty good alignment. I am thinking it's an illusion of some sort.

I think you are correct Marina. That waterline confirms the image is level. Put it down to a long day. :w3

Great behaviour captured here, I like the low angle and the subdued colours. Excellent detail on the feathers of the male. Gorgeous !

Once in a lifetime shot, Robert. For these, lots of things have to happen just right...they did and you executed perfectly with the angle and the techs. What a shot. Send it to some contests.
