Unique view. Perfect DOF to keep full head sharp. Excellent image Chas.

I'm not crazy about the reflection but I adore the loon's face and have never seen an image quite like this...I will now look at it for a while. Nifty! Thank you for sharing this!

The angle makes it a very very unique one indeed .

Very nice shot. I really like the head on angle. Great water color and great comp.
Well done.

Wow, sunny 16 works perfectly yet again. :w3 This image is chock full of interest with the water patterns on the head, the eyes, the bow wake and that amazingly artistic reflection.

I like the light on its face and the reflection but I am also always puzzled by the fact that the bird is not totally seen : I do also have shots of loons in this kind of position and I wonder if they are keeper or not. I would certainly keep this one but it does not answer my reflection on that topic. If you would like to share any ideas, please do so.:S3:

Spectacular, Chas. The horizontal line across the middle had me confused for a second. Was there a 2nd loon in front of this one?

Tim,

One loon. The line is from the bow wave created by the loon swimming toward me.
