Image made using my Canon 30D with 400mm f/5.6L lens and 580 Ex II Flash with Better Beamer all tripod mounted.

1/1000 sec at f/5.6; ISO 400; EC = 0; FEC = -1

Nice head turn and colors, Ed. You need less negative space on the left and there's a slight sharpening halo around the face.
Nice catch light.

Would add to take a bit of the bottom !!!! Good bg and pose !!! Very appealing image !!!

I don't think I've seen a pic of one of these out of the water. Cool. A bit off the left and some selective sharpening to avoid halos would be good.

I agree on less space at left, and if you have it adding more at right. If inclined to you could clean-up the rock too. Good pose, and nice to see one out of the water!

This is a lovely image Ed!!! Superb pose, and excellent detail. This lovely image could be further enhanced with a small crop on the left - almost to the rock. Well done!!

Thank you for the feedback and critiques on how to improve the image. I can certainly crop a bit from the left. When I did crop in post-processing, I was more concerned about the right since there was a long whitish reflection running the length of the water and that was distracting. So if I was to add to the right, I would have to build out as opposed to using what I have there.
