A plain and honest gadwall

Hi there! Here is a gadwall, taken recently with the Canon 7D and 70-300L at 300mm. iso400, 1/800, f8. A nice duck indeed! I'd be delighted to hear from you with comments and ideas and suggestions. I shaved about 25% away from the original, adjusted levels, USM. If this picture puts you to sleep, know that I'm sorry already. Excited to hear from you!

Hi Jack, a good clean image here, and I like the light. You have brought out the fine plumage detail very well, with sharpness spot on. The dripping droplets add interest, and if anything, I would take at least half off the bottom.

this is very nice, good light and nice details. I like the water drops. good suggestion by Stu regarding a tighter crop in the bottom. You may also want to eliminate the 2nd catchlight

Many thanks, folks, really and truly. As for Ryan, I'll say this: I was lying down! For the first time! Low as possible to the bird. There was still a drop-off but there you have it! Ah, the angle police, always on my case...:bg3:
