From Soberania, Panama, several weeks ago. I liked the way the bg color complimented that of this lass. (Disclosure: although it looks as if she is scolding another bird, she is actually reaching for a banana on a feeding tray just out of the frame.)

D7000, 80-400 VR @ 400mm, ISO 2000, 1/400s @ f/6.3 manual, HH (braced on wall).

Very cool looking little bird, great pose. I love the colors of the bird and BG. I can see some noise on the bird from iso2000 but I can imagine the low light level.

Bill, this is amazing....Beautiful bird, Nice calling pose and love the perch, BG and your composition. Head looks bit soft but for ISO 2000 this is pretty clean and detailed image.

I would never have thought this was such a high ISO image!! I find the head a bit soft but otherwise really like the image. Great open beak. Lovely colors. This would look good as a panorama crop as well,

Bill, beautiful bird for sure. IQ looks very good for that high ISO. looks like there is some motion blur in the head but you were already at the limits...or beyond :-) Nice BG and pose.

That's a beautiful little bird, and well taken. I love the open beak and focused attitude. Pretty impressive to stop him that well at 1/400. Very nice!

Hi Bill, well timed to capture this behaviour with the open beak, and I like the placement in the frame. Good to see the different layers of feathers, nice colours, and killer BG. I agree with the others regarding the head.

Excellent light, details and bg.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I agree about the head. I struggled with noise and low light on most of my shots from this trip. Those big leaves in the tropical canopy really block the light.
