Taken last month. D3X (just sold - will miss it) 600 VR 1/400 f/6.3 ISO 320.

I like the slight bluish cast. If you don't please send repost it with what you did. I am always open to suggestions.

Amazing IQ. I like the "cast" and have never thought of that word as a bad one. Fidelity of color is not always the most important thing. So say I! May I ask: with what machine did you replace the D3x?

I thought long and hard and decided to go with a D800. There are some things I do not like about the D800, especially slow fps, smaller batteries, and the need to spend several Hundred more for a grip. However, less noise at 1600 - 3200 (my limit), better af, and more pixels in crop mode than my D300s had me switch.
However, I only decided to do this last Friday and so I do not have an fx camera at present.

I don't mind the blue, per se, but I do think it's a little much on the bird itself. Here's color balance added, 15 toward yellow and 10 toward red. The image itself is wonderful, with perfect detail on the feathers, great BG, and a terrific high-key treatment. Well done!

Alan, I liked the details a lot. Composition is also quite strong...with the curve and the lines. Its the background that I am not liking a lot.

I like the overall look to this although I would prefer the white feathers to be whiter. The detail around the eye and bill is very good. I like the hairdoo.

Excellent close up. I really like the comp, exposed very well, detail is excellent, and I dont mind the cast.
Well done.
