Good capture of the bird hovering. Good detail and sharpness on the bird, great wing position, I can feel the birds concentration. I would rather that both wing tips were in equal focus or equal OOF. Too bad there is no background, a black and white bird on a plain grey BG.

Sanjeev,

You get an A+ for originality and interesting subject behavior and what is more important than that. The timing and capture alone makes this an amazing photograph. The opportunity here is the both ISO which could be doubled and gain a stop which can always be helpful with BIF and sharpness/IQ. Regarding the IQ, was this a large crop the picture could use more detail in the eye and feet areas. Seems to be a bit noisy as well and with the low ISO that could be a sign of underexposure adjustments or again large crop. How did the histogram look.

On balance, this is a compelling picture capturing an interesting moment in the life of this subject - well done.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your comments. It wasn't a huge crop, I was lucky to be close to this one as it was hovering to make a dive. Maybe 25% crop at the most. It was a bit underexposed and I had to brighten it up and use the shadows and highlights tool. I have captured the full dive sequence of this magnificent bird and have it on my flickr site. The 8FPS of 7D did help. Appreciate your kind words.
Regards
Sanjeev
