I know this is a well known species here but I still want to hear your crittiques.

I tried to tame the perch but there was not much I could do about it.

Very nice. Heron stands out really well from lovely bg. Pose and techs all look good. You have mentioned perch and I clone out the few leaves showing up at bottom. I don't think I would crop them out as space all around feels right to me.

I like the pose and detail. I Don't mind the perch except that it is so bright and perhaps try a little less saturation on the image as a whole?

I love the BG. It looks like a painting. The diagonal perch is very nice and I would do a burn on the hot spots or clone them out. I agree with Cheryl that it looks a bit too saturated. I like the leg positions,
