This picture was taken on 17th of February in Florida. One of the lady Rangers asked us if we had seen the nest before. When we said yes, she asked if we had seen the egg shell at the base of the tree. When we said no, she walked over with us telling that it wasn't there a day before, therefore it meant that the first owlet hatched on that day. (The tree was cordoned away as it was at a public place)
Thanks for looking.

Hi Karl, The owl is so well camoflauged against the bark of the tree, and I do like the attentive stare. Nicely framed in the fork of the tree, and I like your choice of comp.

very nice looking owl. I'd go 3X2 reducing the tree trunk on the right.

Cool. Thanks for posting the original Karl as I always find it helpful to see what others do with pp'n. Sharp and nice dof as well. I might tone down the bit of lighter area just above owl's head. Very well done and also very nice of lady Ranger.

Pretty sharp for HH at 1/320. Good choice of crop.

I like the clean habitat look here and the position of the Owl, Karl.
It is tough to get them in the Open where I live.
Very nice and I also like the crop.

Nice looking GHO its nice to see they returned to the same tree they have used in the past.

Arash took my words!
Very nice GHO and habitat, to my taste, just a bit warmer would improve this image IMHO. :)

Thank you all.
I shot only eight frames on this Owl.
As I was hand holding my rig, and it was kind of far and kind of windy, I kept hitting the tail.
Only two hit the head and on this one the square was sitting right on the right eye.
So in reality I have only one good shot, but hey one good shot is enough for me.:S3:
