Last wednesday was a holiday here in SA, so I decided to take a drive through the reserve close to my house. I came across a few Zebra's grazing in the grasslands, when this egret flew up from the ground and perched on the back of this Zebra. I have used detail extractor at 9% on the whole image. Taken early morning.

Amazing! I've changed my mind. I won't move to FLA. I'll move to SA instead. Thanks for sharing this spiffy moment, Stuart. Two great creatures together, well captured by you.

A very neat looking image Stuart and a moment well captured. Nice to see both feet and one raised as well as obliging Zebra.

Stuart, I like how you can just take a short drive on a holiday and see Zebras :-) living in Africa must be so much fun.

perch makes all the difference here. Nice pose and whites. excellent comp. and details. Any other poses with better head positions?

Any other poses with better head positions?

Thanks KD. Yep, the next frame I have the egret perched and posed nicely at a good angle. :w3 I will post at a later date.

Thanks to everyone else for the kind words and feedback.

Stuart:

Lots to like here, strong graphic content from our striped friend. My first thought before I read other comments was about the birds HA, so I do agree with KD, but still nice as is.

Nice , subtle use of the detail extractor!

Cheers
