Sort of different, not sure what the reaction to this will be, but I liked it.

Nifty shot! Intriguing. Lucky you. i might consider erasing/cloning the bit in the upper left, but otherwise I like the bizarro look to this one...

Hi Dan,
I love it when BPN'ers post something different. ( I, alas, am still a slave to the rules...) This would work for me if there wasn't the bit of wood covering the beak and owl's left cheek and eye. As it is, the wood overpowers the face. Could you have moved to your left?

Impressed with IQ considering HH 500 at 1/200. I'd try a couple things to bring out the yellow, there are many you could do.

I like it too. I kinda wish the bg had color in it but this is cool too. I think a pano cropped from the head with no ears looks cool too keeps the viewer wondering what it is..

Hi Dan, well done for trying something different. I feel bringing out the eye a little more wont harm this, and what about cropping really tight to just below the ear tuffs. Just a thought. :w3

Hard to image this one - its a stop on the auto route. You can't exit the car. A sunroof is an option but car position is difficult. And they've put up fence/posts to keep cars from positioning optimally this year.

Hi Dan, congrats on thinking differently, love that beady eye.

Might suggest reducing the Blue overall, evident in the tips of the ears which will also helps the slight, faint, halo line (chromatic aberration) that runs along the contour of the tree, in parts. In addition, slightly lightening the head to bring out more detail and that lovely eye. Shooting backlit is never easy, however can I assume you shot 0 comp? If so I have found, expose for the owl and blow the BKG.

Dan, good thing you tried something different. Liked the sharp details and the eye. if you can fix the color cast, it will look better.
