Snowy Egret - Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge
Canon EOS 7D - Canon 400mm f/5.6 - f/5.6 - 1/2500 sec. - ISO 160
The egret was perched on top of a canal lock structure which I cropped out as much as possible.

Looks good to me . . . I would clone out the grass crossing behind its beak . . .

Thanks Wendell,

That's a good suggestion.

I like that you just got the feet and the placement of the bird. I too am bothered by the intersecting greens at the face.

Cheryl,

I agree with you about the intersecting grass and I will try to see if I can get a clean clone out before printing it.

A very good suggestion, but did you like the overall feel/impact of the image?

Thanks,

Hi, I liked the pose and the habitat BG. Whites look good as well. But I think its too tight at the bottom. I understand that you want to crop out the perch...but if mine, I wouldn't crop that close.

Kaustubh,

Here is a re-post with the cloning and extra space below the feet.
What do you think?

i like the extra room below. yes, perch isn't ideal but I prefer it to having feet so close to the edge of the frame.

Thanks Kaustubh,

This was considered before I posted it the first time, so I flipped a coin but I see now that it landed on the wrong side. ;-)

Thanks Kaustubh and all the others for your great suggestions!
