Nice pose and BG...Wing details look nice but there is slight movement in head and looks slightly soft...Higher Shutter speed could have avoided motion blur in head.

Very cool. Nice diffused light, and a good clear BG. Looks laike a bigger crop than usual (?) and a slightly better HA would have improved on the image.

Thanks Sachin and Daniel for your comments. This is a bit bigger crop than usual and I feel it was lacking in IQ to begin with but tried to bring it up in PP. I had trouble getting a sharp image of this woodpecker. I will look through the files for a better one.

Hi Jim, well exposed on the reds and blacks, although adding a touch of black back wont harm him. Good comp, clear BG, and good to see the size of hole he has managed to peck. :w3

A fine shot, I would suggest lowering the highlights a little, I think it will improve the image and also give the impression of more detail.

If the head was turned more towards the focal plane and sharper it would've been so much better! I like the colours and soft light and framing though...

hey Jim sweet angle but this one doesn't have your usual high quality standard, I think you were limited by low shutter speed?

Very nice WP and super clean BG. I like it all but would suggest to increase contrast a tad.
