From a few hours ago in Long Reef, Sydney. These birds are getting ready to leave Australia and fly to breed in North East Asia. This bird has almost full breeding plumage.
My first shot ever of this bird.

Nice and low. I like the walking pose. I would tone down the highlights on the legs and would be tempted to clone out the OOF shell or vegetation. IQ is excellent as usual- otherwise no nits,
Gail

Beautiful colors and clarity, Ofer. Like your usual low angle and your choice of DOF and how it made the whole bird sharp. Wonderful job for your first time on this bird!

I love this species, I usually see them here in winter plumage during the fall migration so seeing one in breeding plumage is always nice. Good low angle, colours, comp. There is a small patch of white on the belly that could be toned down, and I wish the piece in the water was in the same focal distance as the subject (to have it in focus as well). I like the morsel on the bill!

Lovely low angle, IQ and light. For me the rocks help to anchor the bird and show the environment. We are lucky to have this species here, but I have yet to get a really good capture of one in breeding plumage. That first experience photographing a new bird is such a special one!!

BTW, I should have looked at this from my proper monitor...the white spot on the belly looks fine from this one.

super low angle here and lovely colours & IQ, Ofer...
800 x 1.4 x 1.3 - that's some effective FL :eek3:

Your shooting angle is always superb, Ofer.
This is very nice, the lens must be close to getting wet for these!

Stunning Ofer. The light is sweet as is the great look to the water. Great detail on the bird and your super below sea level angle puts it to perfection :bg3:
