D700, 300 f2.8, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/500, f7.1, iso800. Cropped, small exp adjustment in acr. Levels, sat, s/h, usm in cs3. These camera settings were for birds. The popcorn tree is one of the most invasive species in Mississippi. They have pretty colors when they are sprouting new growth in the spring. In the fall the leaves turn red and will be brilliant and very beautiful when the sun angle is right.

Hey Jack, this one is simple but very effective. I love the soft tones and the BG looks fantastic. If this were mine, I would crop in tighter all the way around but other than that, there's nothing else to change. :S3:

I'd crop a little top and right...everything else is spot on. Beautiful and simplistic. Excellent post-processing.

Lovely in its simplicity. The green on green works beautifully. I, too, would crop.
In your settings description you included "1.4tc." What does that mean?
Too bad this is an invasive.

Hi Anita. Thank you for your response. I was shooting birds when I took this image of the popcorn. The 1.4 is a teleconverter for ny 300mm lens.
