Hello everyone. Well I was lucky enough to bump int o this fellow/gal. It let me get very close. Could not the whole bird so I went for a head shot. I know background is a tad busy, but I have never been so close to roadrunner. Almost FF cropped a tad from the left, adjusted highlights, darkened background, and sharpened.
C&C welcomed and enocuraged.

Excellent portrait. Nice details. Even though background is busy looking good for camouflaging the bird.

Excellent Portrait Robert...Nice Eye contact...BG is busy and little distracting, but tight portrait minimizes it..Still I would try and blur BG a bit if mine...I will also back out on sharpening a bit...

Hi Robert,
What a great moment it must have been to be so close to this bird. I like the composition and the bird looks good but the BG is just too busy for my taste. I like the blue feathers around the eye- very cool. I agree with Sachin that it is a tad oversharpened,

Robert,
Do you recall the sharpening parameters you used? Perhaps it might have had too large of a radius?

Great job getting this close to a pretty elusive bird.
