I photographed this guy last night in the vernal pond behind my home. Hard to believe that the frogs are out and singing so early this year.

Lots of flashed highlights evicted.

Nikon D200
Nikon 105 micro lens
ISO 100
f16 @ 1/60 sec.
SB400 Speedlight on home-made flash bracket
Handheld

Look forward to comments.

Hi Andrew. Nice job cleaning this one up. I like the lighting and tight comp, and you have good sharpness where it needs it. The leaf over the face gives the image character, IMO. :S3: There are a few light spots to the right of the frog that seem a little out of place considering how clean the rest of the image is - a minor point and an easy fix. Very well done and I'm looking forward to more of these!

Hey Andrew, it's been an odd non-winter here too so everything is way ahead of schedule. Nice cleanup PP work and as Steve said, the leaf on its head adds instead of detracts from the image. If the leaf was in front of the frog it would have been a distraction but on the head it's kind of cute! Nicely done overall! :S3:
