A rather straightforward portrait of one of the 22 strong pack, resident in Kwando concession, Botswana, taken 24th December 2011

Ken - I like the pose and crossed legs as well as the catchlight in the eye. However, once again, I feel the yellows are too strong and need to be reduced.

Rachel

Rachel,

The yellows look OK to me on my monitor. The fur of Wild Dogs differs greatly, in fact it is claimed that each one is the equivalent of a fingerprint. I have seen them varying from almost pure white to black and a multitude of colours in between and many many times.

Nice POV, great light on head, eye, mouth, ears. Sunlight but not harsh or blown/blocked, well done. Yellow looks fine to me, in fact when I look at ground/sand has a hint of blue, so, perhaps could be even a bit "warmer"?
Front legs crossed, Ken you must have the best collection of wild dogs with their legs in crazy positions !! :S3:

Tom,
Thanks, I have been very very lucky with Wild Dogs mainly down to my choice of destination and the brilliance of their guides, plus we do like to put in the hours:w3

A nice frame filling pose and comp. May be this different monitor I'm on at the moment but this one also looks like it could use a touch more contrast. I hit it with a bit of the USM contrast trick and it brought out more pop (probably already know but about 25% for amount, radius to taste if you haven't heard of this one)

Missed the editing deadline by 1 minute. Disregard comment about contrast, looks much better on my regular monitor.

Thanks everybody for your comments,

Morkel,

All space around the dog is as usual full of other Wild Dog bits this is about 50%
