Dear BPN enthusiasts,

I would like to invite you to participate with your fantastic photos in the exhibition organized by the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BirdLife Bulgaria) and America for Bulgaria Foundation.
The exhibition will take place in the very center of Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria. Over 2 million people will be able to see about 30 photos of Bulgarian and American bird species.
The aim of the exhibition is to promote nature conservation by interpreting emblematic Bulgarian birds and their American counterparts and by telling stories of how bird diversity is protected within the USA and in Bulgaria.
We have selected several birds that can be seen in Bulgaria and the selection of photographs is ongoing. We would like to match those Bulgarian birds with their American counterparts. However, we don’t have any good photos of American species. That is way I’m appealing to you for help.
Here is an indicative list of species whose photos we need for the exhibition:

Sandhill or Whooping Crane
Bald Eagle
California condor or other North American Vulture
Roseate Spoonbill
Brown Pelican
Any species of North American Woodpecker
Burrowing Owl
Belted or Green Kingfisher
Snow Goose
Wood Duck
Hummingbird
Golden Eagle
Snail Kite
Red-tailed Hawk
Caracara
Purple Martin or other American Martin

The size of the photo panels is going to be apporx. 35 x 60 inches (landscape orientation) and 35 x 25 inches (portrait orientation).
The photos will only be used for the exhibition and in a promotional leaflet. All photos will be credited in accordance with the author’s demands.
Unfortunately, we don’t have financial resources to pay for copyrights and we hope that you are willing to donate your photos to the exhibition. We will try to compensate the authors by promoting their websites and the photographers themselves on a special board, which will be part of the exhibition. Every photographer will be presented with his/her picture and a short description of their interests, occupation, and photography background.
None of the photos will be used for commercial purposes. The exhibition prints and the promotional leaflet will not be for sale. It will be an outdoor exhibition with no entrance fee. Raising public awareness of the conservation of wild birds and their habitats will be the only profit from the event.

For those of you who are willing to support the initiative by providing photos or have any questions in this regard, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at svetoslav.spasov@bspb.org

Best regards
Svetoslav
