During my fieldwork season I sometimes have a little time to drive around to look for photographic oppertunities. I found some groups of these tufted ducks in a small kanal. As I tried to approach them they flew off which gave me some opps to take some flightshots. I was really happy to get this take off shot.

Commments and critique are always welcome,

I love the BG, the colours and the position of the bird in this frame. I rather liked to see some more detail in de feathers on his head witch are a little to smooth now.

Incredibly sharp, especially the eye. Lightening that head just a bit would be great (while being careful not to over-do it). Lastly, I wish that the wings had been in the full downstroke position. All in all, excellent.

Excellent image. Razor sharp on the birds eye, good framing, and lovely bg. Bringing out a little more detail in the head and neck by lightening will make this already wonderful image even better.

Very nice in flight shot. Agree about trying to get more details in the head feathers. You did a nice job with the exposure given that the bird has black and white feathers - always a tricky combination.
