View Full Version : American Coot, very common, but difficult to photograph

The American Coot is very common in Mexico, of these species very common that we no longer take time to photograph, but is a great challenge to take a picture where the beakis not over exposed and not miss details of plumage, with respect to the composition, i am not sure.

exposure, eye contact and details are very good, I am not crazy about the OOF bird in the BG and the multiple reflections would tone done the specular highlights on the beak

I've tried to photograph these guys and even the ones in the local park seem really skittish.

Thx for the critic, Chris i use a blind for this and all ducks, is the only way for take good photos

Exposure and details are spot on. Neat calling pose too. Comp-wise you need more room below and left IMO (although I see you added some at left as there is a post processing mark there).

Thx Daniel, the post processing mark in left is resulting of level the horizon
