Bald Eagle at Shelburne Bay, Vermont from Sunday. My first visit to the West side of the state with camera. Not many BEs nest in VT but they do show up along Lake Champlain when there is open water during Winter. Hand held, 1DMK3 on 500 f4 at iso400, 1/1250, f5.6, manual. Mid day light sure is tough. Bob

Nice wide spread, but as you say light is not helping to get a pleasant exposure. The pose is also not working for me, as he is angled away and has no eye contact with you.
