Nice green reflection and perfect pose of the egret with the raised foot. Framing is fine, although my preference would be less at the top and more at the bottom. I would also consider darkening the brown bkgd a little in order to put more focus on the egret.

I like the running pose, reflection and complimentary BG. Well done Karl! Nice to have met you at the park.

Oh it was you Jim? Sorry I did not get your last name.
I looked around before I was leaving, wantet to say hi, but you were gone.
Nice meeting you fellow Canadian in Florida.

I really like this pose, Karl. I think the green against that brown BG works very well. Like that running pose very much and the water droplets. Would maybe sharpen the head a tad more.

It was a pleasure having the opportunity to meet you and your wife, as well as Jim (above) out at FD.

I like the pose Karl looks like he has a long wet beard! you had some nice soft light and a good low angle. I like it as presented and wouldn't change anything, maybe sharpen those water drops for more impact
great work

One of your best, Karl and that is saying a lot.
The color, focus and pose are first rate.

Gorgeous image, Karl. Sweet light and colors, great pose, and lovely setting. You probably have a frame with the full reflection; that would be interesting too.

Thanks Mark. It is almost full frame. It was cropped from 12x8 to 7x5 mostly taken off from the right.
My biggest problem was that I lost some amazing opportunities when he came close.
I tried to carry a 70-200 one day and an other day a 400 f5.6 L with me for close encounters but it did not help. I just got confused, having two cameras that is.
So I ended up carrying the 500 only. Other years I took the 300 f2.8 only and it served me well. Maybe I'll do it again next time.

Hi Karl, good low perspective, and I like the angle of the egret. Good wing position, and I like the light and overall colours in the BG.

Karl, excellent shot. I like the incoming angle of the bird, the plumage, the pose...raised foot, raised wings...awesome shot. I also like the comp. as-is.
