Another from Alafia Bank. In the next frame, the upper bird had his spoonbill completely clamped around the head of the lower one, but this frame had better head positions. I've assumed that this is a territorial spat, but maybe a mating ritual?? Perhaps someone could advise. C&C appreciated.,

D7000, 500f4, ISO 800, 1/2000s @ f/8 manual, tripod.

What a great capture, Bill. Love the vertical presentation, and the action is over the top. I have never seen this type of behavior. Love the inclusion of the environment b/c it tells even more of a story.

Thanks Captain. It looks like he's succeeding. I really enjoyed the day out with you on the Hooptie Deux, and the chance to shoot some of these beautiful creatures. I appreciate the tips you gave me on manual exposure. Already looking forward to next year.

Hi Bill, great action captured, and you timed the moment very well. I would still like to see the next frame, as in 'fighting' poses, the overall action overides any bad HA's. Good choice of comp, love the colours, and in focus and sharp. Well captured.

Bill, incredible shot. these are not only difficult, but rare. two-bird images are much harder and especially the ones with such action packed interaction. What a shot...loved it. like that we can see the eye of the top bird so nicely.
