A good looking fellow with some lighting challenges caused by the very bright background. If flash was available, I might have tried it to allow yourself to underexpose the image a bit, let the BG go a bit darker, but getting enough light on the bird to help him separate from the BG.

From a comp. standpoint, I could see a small crop from the left to eliminate the BG from that side.

One other option if the IQ will allow, would be to crop much tighter overall, to reduce the impact of that bright BG some. I would also burn the background in a bit to lower its luminosity a bit.

Good points from Randy. The bird looks good, it is fairly sharp considering the slow shutter speed. The popup flash would have helped alot here.

Good points by the fellows above. I would also warm up the WB to help negate the blue cast on the subject and tree. Very sweet looking fellow (or gal!)
