Hummer nesting

This is from last April at local lake. Came back a few times, but never did see little ones. Cropped some off top & bottom, CS5, ACR, used blur and cloning to clean up BG, touched up eye, NR

I like the behavior shown here. You dealt with the BG well. I think I would prefer this as a horizontal with room on the left but still very nice as presented.

Good shot of this little beauty. BG looks ok. I have never been able to find a hummer nest.

I would also go for a wider crop horizontal, with less space on top and below and more behind the bird.

Hi Brendan, this is the first hummer Ive seen on this site actually perched.:w3 All the others have been hovering over flowers. I agree with Gail on having a horizontal, but can see your train of thought with a vertical to probably eliminate the busy BG.
