Hello everyone. Here is another pic of a female ring neck, but this time with its eyes open. Hope you enjoy.

I like the HA and the low angle as well as the nice water colours. I also like the water droplets on the bird. Image seems a bit soft though around the face.

Tom - thank for your comments. Is this one better? I went back and gave it another round of sharpening.

Second one much much better than the first one. Sharp & lovely hues in the water.

Robert, nice portrait of the bird with a good background. I like the repost. To me the bird is tight in the frame.

Repost is excellent. I like the composition and the pose. Nice sidelight as well. Great low angle. No nits from me. Lovely,

Very nice shot - terrific low angle, nice light. Couldn't get better eye contact, and repost really helps the detail. Maybe a tad tight in the frame, but fine as posted.

Fantastic eye contact, low angle and gorgeous water. Great call on the DOF.
Ring necked ducks are very very skittish here.
If you have more room around, I agree that a looser crop would help; but fantastic image either way.

The repost is a bit too crisp for me, perhaps somewhere in the middle would be great. Nice pose, good light and low angle. I agree it is tight in the frame, and I would darken the pupil (except for the catchlight of course).

Repost is better, love the colors in the water. Great position and HA. Warm light is beautiful.

Nicely done Robert. Low angle works well for this one. I actually like the first post a little more than the second one. Second one looks a little over-sharpened on my monitor.

Hi Robert, another great low angle of capture, and I like the swimming angle too. Light looks good, as do the pastel colours of the BG. The droplets add interest, and Im with Dan regarding the sharpening. I wouldnt have sharpened the whole duck, just selectively around the head for 'taste'.
