The bird is too centered in the frame for me; I'd consider a crop from the right with more canvas on the left. I like the idea of an OOF woodpecker in the BG, but the color and luminosity of the tree is a bit much for this frame IMO.

Hi Decio, well timed to capture the pre take off pose, and I hope you have the next frame on taking off.:w3 When focussing on you subject, try and see what your BG is, so as to try and eliminate anything that may be distracting in your final resut. I know its not always possible. As Doug stated, always try and leave space in front for your subject to walk or fly into - in this, taking off from the right, as that is just empty space. Hope that helps.

Although it must have been exciting to get both of these birds in the frame, there is too much going on for me. I would prefer seeing two pictures of the 2 subjects in this particular case. I like the perch and the launching pose of the robin. It's nice to see that it has kicked up some snow. You had very nice light here.

Good idea but for me It doesn't work. The robin and the log command attention, the woodpecker unfortunately becomes a distraction becasue I want to see it but I can't, the reason being that the colours of the log and the robin do not allow it.
