The sunset on Saturday was one of the most beautiful ones this year in our area. I saw some promising clouds building up and decided to head to a local farm I have access to where these interesting old ruins hold vigil.

I will probably be posting a few other compositions from this amazing sky, but here is a first starter...

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 @ 14mm
f11 @ ISO-200
Blend of 3 exposures using luminosity masks

I like this very much Morkel...

You have a nice lead and foreground to a distant clump of trees & animals. The Blending & exposure is faultless and blending is something I should have tried in my latest sunset shots.

Well done (as usual..)

The clouds are gorgeous and the warm light on the stone structure is beautiful.

Spectacular light quality! I like the composition, the sky is wonderful. Just curious as to how you cropped ( if you did at all)

Thanks guys.

Jay - mmhmm, the horizon curves in the centre and down again just behind the house - the lie of the land as it were. I went by the leftmost wall of the ruin as best I could, given that it's also a bit uneven with a bulge in the centre...:e3

Jack - full frame I think, might have sliced a sliver off the RHS.

I really like the way the clouds radiate from the structure. Sweet light too! Very nicely done!
