Was out today for Bitterns and could not find them as they had been cutting the reed bed so instead i decided to spend some time at one of my Red Fox sites and this turned out to be time spent well..:w3

Hey Jeroen, I was hoping you might post this one.

For me it's all about the light, it has all the hallmarks of a lovely winter scene. You have to smile with that tongue on view and the kill. Might suggest toning down the highlight spot below the jaw and above pheasants wing. Was this shot from a hide?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comments. I ageree on the hot spots but found it hard to tone them down any further.
This Fox was not shot from a hide but is one that has become accustomed to my presence ver the years.

greetings,

Very nice. Do you have one of fox looking into camera?? Think that would be very dramatic.Tom

This is a quintessential winter scene with the pheasant really adding to the overall look. Lovely IQ and the tongue is great.

Strange (to me, not having winters), very soft and very beautiful light - and a great catch of the fox with prey. Really was time well spent.
