I own a one year old, lightly used, Gitzo 3541ls. Recently, I have had problems with the feet falling off. The sleeve that fits into the carbon fiber tube at the bottom of the leg (the rubber foot or spike screws into it) has fallen out. I can push it back into the leg but, it can easily fall out again. I also noticed that the sleeve on one of the other legs is beginning to come out about a quarter of an inch. I am worried that this one will also fall out. Needless to say, I am quite worried that I will lose one of the feet and not be able to find it. Once the foot falls off, the tripod is useless as I would not want to risk damaging the carbon fiber leg. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you deal with it? I have emailed manfrotto service but, I have not yet received an answer.

It took me a long time to come up with the money for a Gitzo. I thought that I was paying for quality and reliability. I hope that I was right. Thanks for your help.

I'd contact Gitzo and ask them.
