Plus 1.4 Teleconverter.
Cropped to about 1/3 original picture area.
800 ISO.
Multi-segment metering.
Aperture priority F5.6 @ 1/500sec.

Very nice action shot Ian,
You might want to crop from the bottom and the top of your frame to make it a pano... In my opinion it would flow better and make the motion come out of your cat...:D

Agree on the crop but would degrade the image even more Has suffered from the crop already Love the in the air pose Does give a sense of speed Did you catch any other poses? Great panning !!!!

Beautiful action shot. I agree with Alfred. I see Gus' point on pano shot but agree that it might degrade the image.

Alfred: I expected problems with using TC so prefocussed on expected run course and took all shots on manual focus.

All are in manual focus !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing !!!

I guess the neatest pose it the last one since you can see the cat up close It does show the image not being critically sharp around the face It is a very good image none the less Pose wise I'm torn between the lay out and the legs together Tough to decide

An after thought These would have been sweet with a lower shutter speed blurring the bg !!!! Neat !!!

The problem with manual focus even near infinity taking burst shots over 100 yards or so meant that some were a bit more out of focus.
Will have to work on it.
Bit doubtful of getting sharp image with slower shutter speed.
A fast 500mm AF lens would be nice for that, but then trees in foreground might be a problem !!!
