I captured this in the Kalahari desert. The sun was already sitting high, but I like the way the sun reflects through the feathers. The 400f5.6 lens and 1dmk2n combo works great to quickly pickup and shoot. All comments welcome!

Nice flyover with good details. I wish for a bit more eye contact.

Lovely banking pose, Isak!

Did you use some Shadow/Highlight on this? f/5.6 /2000/i so 200 seems a little fast for this kind of under wing detail in a dark bird. At least, according to our light in Florida.

When I used Canon, that was a great combination for flight. The acquisition of the 400/5.6 is equal if not faster than the 500/4 (I know theoretically not right because of the aperture)

Thanks everyone!

Fabs, no Shadow/Highlight... this was a fly-over and the sun had reflected through its light feathers. He was also flying quite low to the ground and the sun refelected off the desert sand, illuminating the subject nicely.
