I love inclement weather.

Manual, Spot metered on snow +2.3 EV, 1/250 @ f/8, ISO 400

Well composed and of course exposed. :)

Two questions: Was the falling snow messing up focus, hence the manual focus? Is that water in the BG (looks like ripples on the left)?

I like the gray BG.

Yes, on both accounts. FYI- the more inclement the weather the shorter the focal length I try to use.

+1 here Chas. Crackingly good image. I love the feel here and the diagonal approach creates a lot of dynamics.
